PAST EVENTS:

November 14-16, 2025 - CDHA House of Delegates

5 Delegates of SVDHA, 2 student representatives, and our Trustee Susan McLearan attended CDHA's House of Delegates at Newport Beach. CDHA's Government Relations Council discussed the issues and threats to dental hygienists in California. We voted on new leadership, PRs, PBYs, and life members who have served CDHA for 35+ years. The House was in session and deliberated on rules and regulations that will affect how the organization will conduct itself and celebrated the night away! Students & Delegates dressed up to "Sun, Sand & Smiles" themed President's dinner party to network and mingle with other dental hygienists throughout California.

October 10, 2025 - CDHA Legislative District Outreach

SVDHA Leadership meeting with Senator Niello to discuss the importance of dental hygienists, our role in the dental office, and threats to our profession such as scaling assistants! We are educated and licensed professionals! 

October 11, 2025 - California Care Force Volunteer Opportunity

Ran into Sacramento City College senior students volunteering at California Care Force's event at the Cal Expo with Professor Bravo! Over $730,507 worth of services to 791 dental patients, 437 medical patients, and 404 vision patients were provided free to the public! 537+ volunteers came together to heal our local Sacramento community. Be on the lookout for RDH volunteer opportunities and bridge the gap in oral health by giving back.

March 2025 Dental Hygienists' Legislative Day - Sacramento Capitol 

Your local dental hygienist leaders at the capitol advocating for the dental hygiene profession in California during legislative session right here in Sacramento! Interested in next year's Legislative Day? Check back in February-March 2026!

October 2024 District Outreach - Sacramento 

Every year, we have a District Outreach day in October where dental hygienists go and talk to their local legislators and educate them on what a dental hygienist is and does. Did you know that most legislators think dental hygienists only "clean teeth"? Interested in participating in District Outreach in your area? Join CDHA to be up-to-date on events. 

September 2024 Healing California Veterans Stand Down Volunteer Event

There are so many people who do not have access to dental care right here in Sacramento! From veterans, homeless, low-income...Make an impact in your community by volunteering a weekend day to close the gap on oral health. Commitment to a volunteer event ranges from 4 hours, 8 hours, to 1-2 days. Choose what is best for your body too!

​June 2024 House of Delegates - San Jose
Every year, the CDHA has their House of Delegates to vote on how the organization will conduct its business. Leaders from every component send their elected delegates to represent their districts to affect the future of the CDHA organization. Sacramento is one of the largest districts in California with an alloted 9 voting delegates! If you are interested in becoming a voting delegate, contact us and we will put your name on the roster. Must be an RDH!

Did you know as a paying member, you can attend this event as a viewer too? Socialize and meet other dental hygienists in the field who are passionate about preserving, protecting, and advocating for the dental hygiene profession in California.
